Patti Smith exhibited 30 black and white gelatine silver photographs
that she had produced since 2000, pictures of objects and places that she considered inspirational like
Robert Mapplethorpe’s slippers, the Peace Flag, Virginia Woolf’s bed and Jesse with Flower.
The photographs were originally shot with a Polaroid Land camera and then reproduced as silver gelatin prints in
small editions. "Silver Gelatin Print" is the gallery term for a black and white photograph, because regardless
which coat is used it always contains a silver image in a gelatine emulsion.
5 of these photographs can be seen on the website of the
Robert Miller Gallery (Past Exhibitions 2004).
